Rolled Tips?? Magnapacks...

just get it welded on by another shop

The tips that came my Magnapacks have been a major PITA. Only one of the tips, won't get tight enough to clamp down on the pipe. You can crank the little clamp all the way tight, and its still loose over the pipe. So while I was driving around, trying to figure out a way to make it tight, of course it rattled loose, and I lost the little hanger thingy. After making a new one of those, I used the tin from a soup can as a shim, and it finally got tight. But now the 3/8" rod hanger rattles against the tip. It never ends. As soon as I decide that i'm staying with this setup, I'll have them welded on, but I'm considering trading with my buddy, because he has flows.

Moral of the story: Get them welded on and save yourself the trouble.

I went to a shop because I had a bad exhaust leak after the hpipe install. I thought they would be a good shop but they got my car on the lift and said it was because it wasn't install correctly and they were going to have to weld it into place. Then they said once they did that it would "NEVER COME OFF AGAIN" I guess he has never heard of a sawz all or a plasma cutter. WHile it was on the lift I found that the driver side had spacers on each of the studs that I didn't while lying on my back in my garage. I took it home and removed the studs. I cut the spacers off and put it all back together....... guess what no more exhaust leak. What sucks is they tried to adjust it and when they cinched it down near the flow tubes the pipe ends got bent up. Luckily it doesnt leak there.

Ditto, that stupid little set screw sucks. Mine kept on coming loose. I could only find one position where I could get the tips to stay on, now it looks like my car has a tail . I gotta get mine welded in.

Just go to a better muffler shop, they should have no problem doing it for you, probably won't cost you more than $30. It only cost me $80 to get my subframes welded in.
