Rolling fenders

I really need to roll my rear fender lips due to a recent rim and tire acquisition, and can't remember how the DIY method went. I had an old BMW years ago that I rolled the lip with a baseball bat and a heat gun, but don't know if that would work well enough and safe enough on my car. Does anyone have any ideas?

i tried a hammer going really slow with a torch and my paint was tottaly cracked when i got done.. and i didnt get it too hot i know.. spencive mistake

the body shop used a beadroller and repainted, but i dont think that would work for you cuz i bet it messes up the paint when they do it

i need to do this to. my tires are all chunked up aroung the out side from hitting the 1/4 panel..... damn wheel spacers

Sounds like something you really wouldn't want to DIY unless you really knew what you were doing.

use one of those fender rollers.
Several shops around here advertise fender rolling and they use one of these:

I just used a hammer and big pair of pliers....and ended up with my fenders sloppily rolled, cracked paint and blood all over the tools and my driveway .......

yea that fender roller is what 04sleeper used on his termi. looks great with a wide wheel. if u can locate his cardomain, i believe theres a link in his sig, he has pics of him doing it.

i had my mechanic cut the lips into little strips and use a mallet to pound them up so it looks rolled, didn't come out so great, but I'm gonna a body shop fix it when I take her to get repainted, and have them just make it look like the edges are rounded off. I idont know why the idiots at Ford couldn't have made them rounded off to begin with, they had to know that people were gonna put bigger wheels and tires on there cars.

99-04 did not come rolled. when you use sportlines or other extreme lowering springs with a 315/17/35 or wider on a 99-04 mustang, when you hit a bump the tires will travel up and over to hit the sharp edge of the fender well which in turn shreds the outer edges of the tire...I'm going to upgrade from 315/35/17's on a pair of 17x10.5" wheel to a pair of 305/35/18's on a pair of 18x10.5" for the rear...I will get the better look in back, and not have to worry about the fender problems anymore.

No need to look it up. I have tried the hammer method, the baseball bat method and now the correct and only way to do it, the Eastwood Fender Rolling Tool method with a heat gun.

It is the only real way to roll the fenders EXACTLY the way you want it without destroying the paint.

Here's some pictures of when I did mine. It came out great. I just used a heat gun for the paint to keep it pliable and just took my time. I have now done a few dozen cars all with the same results.
