Roof insolation

Ok seriously, there are lots of products out there, just make sure it is a thermal barrier and sticks to the roof.
Now who's on first?

The stick on stuff will make PDR more of a pain. How often does it hail or blow down medium size tree branches in SC?
General is right about roof rated products. There is one 3M headliner contact adhesive spray that is good for all upholstery area. But the door panel and standard high strength stuff leave headliners hanging after enough heat and cold cycles. He same is probably the case with dynamat type products that are for doors and floors only.

I put quickroof self-stick 2 layers on the roof, gosh, 4 years ago? It sits in the sunshine daily, all day long, and hasn't even thought about coming off yet--and no it doesn't stink. Yes I'm VERY (VERY!!) sensitive to smells too including asphault, smoke, etc and I have never smelled anything that people said it would do. Under it is some pipe wrap, just one layer. Noise? What noise? It rains (hard, 3+ inches per hours) here pretty often, small hail, etc and it doesn't really make any noise. I hear it bouncing off the windshield, deck lid, hood, hear the exhaust noise and road noise but don't hear much from the roof. 93 coupe no sunroof if it makes any difference.

It doesn't make any difference as far as heat goes; I think most of that is because of the non-tinted windows and lack of clearcoat (clear has almost all peeled off)-and it's dark blue. Gets bad hot inside the car, I've seen 174 degrees at one point but the thermometer was sitting in the direct sunlight, so the reading was probably 10 degrees or so on the high side.
