Very carefully...There are two screws on mine (93 hatch) then it just pulls loose from the adhesive. I just tried taking it off my 86 hatch and same two screws, but I think there might be a third hiding around the window area. Not sure though.
My roof rail molding only have a single screw and the rest is clips. I think when I put my new ones on, I put just a little bit of silicone adhesive on them too. Not much though.
Here is a pic of the only screw.
Here is a pic of the clip, there are several on the moldings that allow it to clip to the lip on the car.
To remove the moldings, Remove the screw and then gently pull the molding down toward the ground. Maybe just a little wiggling too. Some of the clips will stay on the moldings and some will stay on the car's lip. Shouldn't cause too much damage to them.
I just pulled it off. The clips keep it from moving around, but the adhesive tends to actually holds it in place. As I said, you should be able to just pull it off. They are pretty flexible from what I remember.
