Just got done changing the rear diff, trans, and oil.... and used the wet watter adder in the cooling system...HOLY SHNIKEYS batman...what a differnce, I know it didnt add HP or TRQ, but the response and feel of the car is so much better YEH ME !!!:nice: :nice:

well Ive used the stock factory fluids, and filters.. and yes I did notice a little bit, but then I wanted to try to RP, everyone at the track and on the forums have given it great reviews. So I went with it... LOVE IT ! Like I said before its just a little pricey so If you change your fluids every 1500 miles or so.. (gods knows why?) that can take a toll on your wallet !

I get a lot of failed automatic transmissions back from dealers with RP in them...make sure the trans you have is compatible with their friction additives or you will burn up the clutch packs...if you have an auto trans of course.

I do not praise RP  I would not consider even using it in my lawn mower. The same goes for Bosch and Denso spark plugs :notnice: I use Mobil1 synthetic :nice:

Edit: I guess I realized I use Bosch plugs in my Civic. But they are good for the four cylinders, not so much for the Mustangs or lawn mowers I have owned :D

I just do not see a point to using it when I can easily get Mobil1

The point I was making is that any difference you felt was due to fluid changes.

I have to agree here. Simply putting new fluid in is going to make it 90% better, anything of "better quality" would just be filling in that 10% gap. Its like washing a filthy car and waxing it afterwards. Looks worlds better after the wash, with a small improvement for the wax.

I managed to cure an occassional 4th gear grind with motorcraft fluid in my trans. Serviced at proper intervals, IMO motorcraft is perfectly adequete and MUCH cheaper.

I personally would never use RP ( Really Pricy) oil. I will always be loyal to Amsoil. Amsoil actually list it competetors names in which it did test comparisons against calling them to the challenge of proving them wrong. go to this link to see what I am talking about http://www.amsoil.com/products/atm_testing/index_flash.aspx

If RP is such a great product why do they not name the other oil companies that they do there testing against. They make a claim to fame but don't back it up. see there vauge test report here http://www.royalpurple.com/techrp/summary.html

Lets see what I start with this one.:) [/URL]

I agree. Royal purple has some sh1tty ratings. I've heard many complaints too. People getting lifter ticks and engine noises :nonono: . This stuff looses its viscosity quickly and thins out. I use mobil 1 only in my car. Amsoil is great too, but too expensive for my taste.

Royal Purple is $5.99 at Pep Boys. That's almost about the same price as Mobil 1 (about a buck more). That's not that expensive.

I use Red Line ($9.99/qt) because they're made of poly ester-based stocks (which are classified as Group V) for them being extremely stable at high temperatures while providing superior film strength at lower viscosities.

Mobil 1 is a Group IV synthetic PAO (polyalphaolefin) which is great, but not as resistant to heat and their film strength not as solid as poly ester based stocks.

I would definitely use Mobil 1 over Group III hydrocracked oil though (dyno and semi-synthetics).

Unless you continually bring your car up to redline and just plain beat the living hell out of it I don't see why you'd waste that much money on RedLine just because it's a Group V. Mobil 1 is MORE than adequate for any conditions 99% of street cars will ever see...

Yeah I ran the RP oil once and it made my engine noisey, tick, tick, tick, I left it
in for 3k no problems but I wont be using it any more. Plus because of the
color I kept thinking it was grape syryp and I wanted to taste it.

I understand your point.

The main reason why I'm putting Red Line oil in my car is because I honestly don't know the exact condition of my engine. I'm not the person to crack open my engine to see how its internals are doing.

For my car personally, I don't want to make the assumption that this or that oil is good for it so hence I just bought the best stuff out there and be done with it.
