AWESOME! what better for motor oil?

Well I've been an Amsoil user since before I've been a Dealer. Up until a few years ago no one ever heard of Royal Purple but as they started to become more popular from all the advertising, us Dealers did some looking into them. First off spec number to number from their Web Site to our equivalent oil they weren't as good as one might expect, but the other things that we found out is that the RP you buy at your local parts store for $4-5 per quart was a blend. The full PAO synthetic they had was in their racing line and was over $9 per quart and this was more difficult for someone to come by unless they dealt with the performance market. The RP in more common parts stores was the blend. Now in the recent issue of MM&FF there is an oil article and the RP rep is quoted as saying that all synthetic come from crude! This is wrong and I can only assume that RP has dummied down their oil to a Group III petroleum based synthetic and no longer uses the better quality PAO base stock that most of the Amsoil oils and Mobil 1 still use. Most all oil companies use a Group III base now, which can also be purchased in different grades, and most of it isn't much better than the Group II regular petroleum. Watch in the future for some comparison numbers to come out from Amsoil comparing their oil to RP. We've been pestering them for more solid specs to work on since many of us work with a performance oriented market and RP has made everyone think they are the best. I also understand they bad mouth Amsoil a lot, so Amsoil is finally taking them on and planning to expose just what quality they are.

Word on the AMSOIL, :hail2: , just got a case of ATF, man that stuff even smells nice, not like regular dino MERCON garbage dump smell! My neighbor is a fanatic of AMSOIL and has used it in everything from a Suburban to a Porsche and swears by it.

somone just told me its to thin and it doesnt have any wear components. i thought it would protect really good cuse it has somehting in it that bonds and protects super good? thats why i bought it! is he full of it?

HISSIN is right. You really worry way too much. Instead of infesting the board with all your ":D" threads... how about you wait until you have like.. 100 questions and post them in 1 post. It should only take you about a week to come up with 100 questions. And it will keep the board clear of unneeded posts. Royal Purple has been covered 293829382 times here... Use the search button.

rp

pepboyz stopped selling royal purple one of the guys there said his buddy dynoed his bike with mobil 1 then dumped it out put royal purple in it then ran it for 50 miles to soak it in then had it re-dynoed Mobil 1 had more HP than the royal purple dyno. I thought rp was the shiiot but now we are getting more people who dont believe it.
