rpm air gap?

The notch will slightly extend the upper rpm range of the manifold, by making it act like a little bigger plenum. You probably loose 500 rpm off the upper end... no big deal 99% of the time.

Hey D.... if Edelbrock wasnt charging OVER $300 for a manifold (320 for my C) they wouldnt loose to the Chinese so much. :D

I gotta side with Dhearne too, support the US, not the competition, unless you want to go on welfare when all the jobs are gone.

I agree - but if you guys really want to support the US, help push for tax reforms that would make us competitive again - like the fairtax

The republicans and democrats have made us completely beholden to China by driving up the debt to insane levels. All China needs to do to wipe out our economy is dump their holdings of US dollars, Asia has us by the proverbial short-hairs.

Now, now guys. Maybe it's possible he didn't know. Dang you guys are touchy...lol.

actually I'm not touchy or upset, I'm 52 and everything is paid for so I don't need a job. I've actually been in semi-retirement this year, but all you younger guys are gonna be effecdted real soon.

Everything you buy from overseas takes labor away from you and take money out of the country. It's your call.

Yes and No, the fairtax is a very good thing, but there is always someone that will MAKE IT CHEAPER, you just have to decide if you want to sell yourself out on the long term for short term gains.

My post was directed more towards ddonica's point about the air gap being more expensive. Maybe they didn't know it was made by the chinease. I'm not real upset about it unless he knew it was made foreign. You still get what you pay for :-)

As far as I've seen of the "fair tax", it's gonna cost me more money than what I'm payin now. All together I pay about 20% of my income to the feds, 5% to my state. And the few times I've seen some tax replace something else, not one merchant comes down on his prices afterwards. All we get is taxed more and more. When did you ever see programs cut ? Then a tax reduction afterward ? We don't need term limits for elected officials, we need term limits for government employees. THEY'RE THE REAL REASON, GOVERNMENT GETS BIGGER AND BIGGER. Put in place a 5 year limit on government service and I guarantee you'll see government get smaller. 5 years and that's it, GO OUT AND WORK LIKE THE REST OF US. And then see how you like the crap you started. :nono::ban:

I think you're underestimating your total tax cost. Maybe your *income* tax is only 20%, but what about all the hidden taxes, excise taxes, sales taxes, etc? The average American pays something like 55% (!). I *strongly* recommend you snag a copy of the Fair Tax book, it's about $7. Hell, PM me your address and I'll buy you one if you pass it around when you're done with it. :)

I agree completely, but if we could start out by changing the tax laws so we could compete internationally instead of driving all our own companies offshore, it'd be a nice start. The Fair Tax specifically avoids involving any cuts so that both sides of the ruling party could get behind it. As for real cuts, I assume you're voting Libertarian or something, because the republicans have certainly proven they won't be doing anything except seeing if they can outspend the democrats. :)

Hey yall I didnt mean to start a political war on here i just needed some info. Regardless of were the intake was made it runs good. Ya know not all of us have alot of money to spend on our dreams so when you see what you think is a good deal you jump on it. Well thats what I do I dont know about yall.Anyway thanks 4 the info.

On another note, does the block strength suffer when using an air-gap? Ive got an old torker (76 vintage) and was investigating short blocks and have seen several valley supports. I was wondering if the old style manifolds offer increased block strength?
