I finally got my stock 86 gt to idle fine but now when I engage the clutch to down shift to turn or simply stop the rpms drop to near 0.I recently had to put a map sensor in to fix a horrible idle problem.I have timeing at 10 and tps is at .98 the car idles at about 700-800 I put the car in second to turn into a parking lot and when i engaged the clutch the rpms dropped I thought it was going to cut off. Then when I give it a few seconds with the clutch still engaged the rpms retun to 700-800.

When you say engage the clutch, you mean to take it out of gear right? Have your tried cleaning out your IAC? Sometimes that will have an adverse effect on idle quality. Do you have an adjustable fuel pressure regulator? if so whats it set at? Does it only do this when you are at slow speeds or does it do the same thing when you push the clutch in when your doing 60? good luck man

Thanks for your post!!! When I am going at any speed and push in the clutch the rpms go below idle speed arround 100-150 like it wants to die. After coasting for a sec it returns to about 700-800.It idles fine but just when i push in the clutch to like downshift or stop?????

Before I put the map sensor in to fix the idle problem I bypassed(coolant line) my egr spacer cause I thought it was cracked or leaking could this be my problem??I havent rehooked yet. What is the purpose of bypassing it like I see some stangers do????TY
