Try another 1/8 turn. I had 1.6 Scorpions and had NO noise. Switched to 1.7 rockers and longer pushrods and got quite a bit more noise. Had 4 lifters go soft, and once those were replaced, ai still had some noise. Now I see a problem in two cylinders - the stud mounting hole center is not in line with the lifter cetner and the valve center. I can get proper rocker alignment, but I have to push the pushrod off center to get the rocker over the center of the valve tip, so what I have is a pushrod slapping the guide. Now i have to see where I can get an off-set 9/16" stud - from AFR hopefully as that is what the set I have is.

I have FRPP 1.72:1 roller rockers. They were installed my a Ford Certerfied mechanic per the instructions. They have always made a little bit of noise. I've queried several people about it and they all have told me it's normal.

You are going to get some noise no mater what. You have a valve slapping shut over and over. That's gonna make some noise.

I also have the same rockers..the sound being too loud is not an easy question to answer...actually need to be there to be giving correct answer. Best I can do is ask..does any one create more "noise" than the others? How loud is it with hood down? really hard to tell. I will say mine were louder than stock..but hood up and standing back..they do not stand out or draw attention to themselves. Honestly I find they sound like a whack of little sewing machines..not quiet..but not disturbing either.

True, but it's more akin to the "sewing machine" noise I've seen as a description - NOT the clear and relatively loud lifter/rocker type ticking I have - you can hear it much louder on one side than the other.

i have a hyd roller cam , alum heads , . last night i pulled the valve cover back off and checked to see if somehow they were loose but nope , honestly it sounds like a diesel truck , i mean they are loud and if you stand back while the car is running you hear them over the exhaust ...( o/r h -pipe 2 chamber flows ) so im not sure whats next ..maybe snug them down a lil more ...but im afraid of hanging a valve open because of to much adj .. at 0 lash i gave them a half turn then tighten them up ..should i go more ??thanks again fellas

I had that same problem with scorpions. I thought it was an exhaust leak at first, but then I pulled off my valve covers and found needle bearing. Took off all the rockers and found one of the carriers that holds the needle bearings busted open on the side.

I later found out after sending the rocker to scorpion, it was a knock-off scorpion!

Talked to the Scorpion guy at the PRI show last week, and he is having a big problem with people knocking off his product in china, kinda like fake golf clubs. Only buy these from a reputable source.

I have "chatter" with my 1.6 Lunati Roller Rockers, on my Holley heads. Sounds like a heard of sewing machines, like mentioned earlier. I've asked several people and they said the "rocker chatter" is normal for the stud mount 302's? Mine is fairly loud. You can hear it when the hood it popped and your standing back from the car. However, when the hood is down, all you hear is exhaust rumbling.
