RSX Type S Pulled on me tonight.

Yeah, black SN95 Mustang = chick magnet.

The price per performance arguement will ALWAYS favor the Mustang. Anyone who tries to argue against that will LOSE. I sereiously can't think of anything out there that compares, hence the reason I bought one in the first place.

amen

yeah 4.30's are good so that you top out at 80mph so when his RSX gets up to it's max speed 85 he'll start to pull up on you

you dont top out at 80mph, if you have drivin with them then you would know. it seems like people are affraid of steep gears.

But we will be able to see your tire smoke when we starts pulling by you. If you spinnin, you aint winnin. If you could plant your tires with the 4.30's then it would be a different story.

yea those 3.08 gears you are running are the reason why you are in the 14s still :nice:

with 3.73 i top out a 155 redline limited, now with 4.30 that number going to be much lower, plus how you going to get traction.

good tires, you only spin first and second and a little bit of third with street tires and if you can drive good. and once you stop spinning your gone, 373s cant even come anywhere close to comparing to 430s acceleration wise. i had 373s an they were horrible. people are affraid of steep gears and think oh no my top speed will go down or my tires will spin to much. its not as bad as u think. i didnt post on here to start an arguement, im just saying with my gears you can easily beat those cars, ive beat them before

I can barely bark second now with this clutch, its deteriorating. If I push the pedal in enough to put a small amount of pressure it wont hold. But all the way out it can still spin them off the line. A new clutch and 3.73 will put me about even with the RSX and ill switch back to 93 octane when everything is in the car. The 87 is really cheap in a couple of places so its worth it until the car does to the track.

Ill post up after both our clutches are installed and broken in. The rsx is getting a centerforce clutch and Im going with a King Cobra. So we will see what happens with only a gear. :nice:

And only hope you never have to install an AEM CAI on an RSX. I laughed so hard when I found out what they had to do. You have to remove the windshied whiper resevior and relocate it in the fender + run the lines. Then you have to cut and extend the wires for the motor inside the resevoir to pump the liqued onto the windshield. Then cut up the fenderwell for the cone filter to fit under there. and all the skid shields and stuff have to come off. I dont thing it was worth it but I though it was funny to hear them bitching after the 4th hour into the install. :rlaugh:

Damn :rlaugh: :rlaugh: :rlaugh:

damn....ur gonna love the gear but i think a 3.90 or 4.10 would have been better. i remember with my auto/vert i had a 2.73. oh god was that sick. i cant wait til i fix my second gear (its been grinding since i pretty much put it in). i dont know if i coudl imagine a 4.30 or even higher unless my car got power past 5300rpms. i mean, my buddy's 99 cobra has 4.56's in there but i shift as quick, or less, in his car than in mine cause he makes power to 7000ish.

have you bumped your timing up yet?? if not, i could do that for you. im tryin to think if i have anything lyin around that coudl help ya. got some bbk shorty headers that im lettin go for pretty cheap but thats kinda about it right now. if you ever need anything done to your car, i pretty much help out. ive done everything on my car except my gear. i know you arent far either.

Timing has been retarted back to 10* because of 87 octane and basically driving for winter. I have a timing ajuster so when I do decide to start putting 93 back in Ill bump it up to 14*. The only mod i have right now is catback exhaust, and removed dogbone and 25lb cowl reducer weight thingy in the fender.

Im workin out a deal on an intake right now, when i go to install it, ill be shure to include you hazmat and shoot you a pm. should be within the month or so. I gotta buy gaskets and the intake elbow as well before I start taking anything apart.

that doesnt sound right....AEM makes some of the highest quality stuff out there....are they sure they got the right intake lol??.....that should be a direct bolt in....

ok well i checked out AEM's site....first off Import Tuner Magazine got 20hp from bolting on an AEM cold air.....mainly cuz the stock intake is sucking warm under hood air....but appraently you do need to cut the inner fender liner to be cut...and you do need to relocate the washer fluid bottle...but they are supposed to give you all the lines and hardware to do so....DC Sports offers an identical design but gives you a different shaped bottle to mount in the stock location....even the magazine says to expect at least a couple hours for install....what a joke....but for 20 and hp and 5.3 lb/ft of torque, id be happy!

You got it. When I do mine again, I'm going to run a 28 inch tire and a 4.56, maybe even a 4.88 if I can go through the traps without nailing the limiter. Don't fear the gear. If you are worried about "my top speed is going to be affected," well who buys a car or mods it based on top speed? You shouldn't be going that fast anyway.

Actually yeah everything came in the kit and all wires were included as well in order to add length to a couple of wires. Plus its the first time actually getting under the hood of that car so they had no clue where anything went. I bet if we ever take that thing off again it would take 5 minutes though.

You guys are killing me with the gear debate here. I was originally going with a 3.90 or 4.10 but I do tons of highway driving and cruse at 80 and up all the time. So I am woried about my rpm at cruising speed not really top speed. But with the jump in one whole turn on the driveshaft, I dont think Im going to be complaning.

yup...ill help on the intake install. its a snap. on the gear debate. i will let you drive my car and you will not want to go higher than a 4.10. with normal driving i always start off in second gear. unless you are gonna run a super sticky/fat tire out back, you wont get traction going into second from first when racing it. i wouldnt recommend it unless you are one with the manual and have some meat out back to hold.

btw, i plan on crossin the 1/4 miles at about 5300rpms in 4th gear with my 4.10. i dont think ill see anything better than a 104mph (total guess tho) i dont think you really want to be shifting into fifth if you go any higher

finally someone who understands, everyone i have ever met besides my friends are affraid of steep gears, dont be affraid
