2008 GT Vert.

50k miles.

Thought I'd do something nice and replace the shocks, which seemed to be getting a little soggy. Thought Bilstien would be good.

Now it rides like it's on wood.

What in the world do I do now? I'm trying to decide whether

a.) I should get some Tokico adjustable shocks and turn them all the way to soft.

b.) Figure out if someone makes softer springs.

c.) Invest in a full airbag suspension system from ridetech.

Thoughts?

P.S. - I may have some Bilstien shocks/struts to sell soon. Barely used...

DAAAAAMN!! Don't give me a heart attack like that. I agree, A set of stock ones would be ideal.

Yeah, but the stock ones were soft, but the ride wasn't great, either.

I'm thinking this:

Suspension Systems :: ShockWaves :: 2005-2011 Ford Mustang - ShockWave Rear System - Master Series, Double Adjustable with Internal Ride Height Sensor - RideTech.com - Air Suspension Specialist

Holy cow that's a lot of money to make the car feel better, if it does.

I know it. But what else can I do to make a BIG difference? The real problem is the roads suck so bad here in Southern California.
Are the springs from the V6 softer?

It's just too much money for me to invest in "maybe" making it "feel better". IMO, if you're not auto-crossing your car, there is a compromise to how good your car can feel/handle vs the modification cost to make it "perfect."

Depending on how much you want to spend, try Koni STR.T for non adjustable or Koni Sports if you want to be able to fine tune the damping. Steeda Sport springs pair up well with either damper. I like my Koni Sports a lot, better than the Roush dampers that they replaced.

I thought this was going to be a crash/condolences thread. I dig adjustable shocks, but it depends on your use. Autocross? Drag? Cruising?

I just bought a set of Tokico adjustable shocks, and I'm going to have a company make me some custom springs. I'm not ready to go the air suspension route...

Put adjustable shocks and struts on. TeamZ sells front 10 Way adjustable for $119 and 10 Way adjustable rear shocks for $69. Sell your current shocks and struts you don't like to fund the new ones. AutoX and road coarse guys would love those Billsteins. Shouldn't have a problem selling them.

+1 to the Koni STR.T's. Good ride, good handling, good price.

I have the Steeda Ultralites with the GT500 shocks and in my opinion it rides excellent.
