Hey everyone, im considering deleting my EGR once i get my chip burned. For those that have done it, does it really drop in gas mileage that much? I know it wont increase performance at all, i just dont like the idea of hot gasses going back into my intake, it makes it dirtier and hotter. Is it even worth it with the gas prices as high as they are?

Unless you have a reason not to (like my EGR tube wouldn't reach the intake after I put my spacer on) then just leave it on. It's a win-win situation with it. The only downside of it is asthetics (I think that's the word), it looks better without it, but that's no big deal.

Oh and if you're worried about your intake getting dirty from something, I'd worry more about your PCV system, that thing probably pumps so much oil through your intake... get an oil seperator, and you'll actually gain mpg, and it will keep your intake and combustion chambers much cleaner.

I'll second all of this.

I researched out pro vs con EGR before and it doesn't really matter. If you got it, then keep it. If you don't got it, then don't bother getting it (unless you've got to deal with emissions testing).
