alright guys i gotta 95 cobra, no motor mods all susp and brakes. when i bought the car it was seriously lacking some beans, and pinging on anything other than 93 octane. checked base timing and found 6deg. bumped it up to 12 and pinging was out of control. unplugged maf&iat and pinging goes away. open and shut right? new maf still no beans but no pinging. yes i have checked for unmetered air and exhaust leaks. timing currently set at 14 base, maf unplugged and runs 87 with no pinging. anyone else had this problem.

clean the mass air meter electronics
replace the spark plugs
put in some injector cleaner
replace the rotor and coil
replace the spark plugs

My car pings sometimes when I get on it, other times it won't. But lately it's been feeling sluggish and pinging all the time. Timing is set fine, and all I run is 93 octane ever since I had the car. I started using the LucasOil fuel additives for like $4 or something, just add it to a full tank. It seems to be helping, i use to use it back in the day and never had any problems then I stopped for a little bit then pinging started coming back. I probably need new injectors and stuff soon.
