running 11's?

I have a 1997 Cobra with 4.10 rear, lt hooker headers, hooker o/r x pipe, flowmaster exhaust and K&N air filter. I would like to get my car NATURALLY ASPIRATED to run mid 11's to high 10's. Please give me suggestions on the most reasonable ways to do this. Also please include pricing of parts you recommend. Thanks a lot.

i would say an aggressive head/cam/intake swap, my knowledge of the 4.6 is limited beyond that

even with ported heads intake and cams you still porrly won't run mid 11's or 10's n/a gunna need a little juice or blower

yeah i agree. when you say "naturally aspirated," is your definition of that just a turbo/supercharger? if so, get a little giggle juice.

You'll need a lot more gear than 4.10's if you want to even get into the 11's N/A...try 4.56's and a whole lot of weight reduction...Tubular K-member, skinny front tires, light weight drag wheels, rear seat delete, etc...

it's not as hard as you think. it's easier to do with a 99 and up gt than any 5.0. and even easier with a 96 and up cobra. Ken at MD Motorsports has the fastest N/A 4.6 in the world. He runs 10.83 in a 2000 GT. He's been in numerous magazines.

two options:

1. get a lighter car (a lot!!!)
2. a bigger engine, a big block Ford 460 will give 550+bhp n/a easy.

These two factors should see a very fast car.

Guys are hitting high 11's with 03 Mach 1's with as little as 310 rwhp. They strip the cars to get the weight down to 2900lbs,run MT ET Streets, 4.30 gears, sub 1.6 short times by side stepping the clutch at 6500 rpm's. It beats the Hell out of the car and is very expesnive. It would be cheaper to run a power adder. They're running a similar motor to you, though.
