Running hot when AC on/ Oil pressure always high.

Hey guys, I havent posted in about 2 or 3 years, but I just recently bought a 94 Gt. Whenever I have the AC on, the temp gauge goes up, and as soon as I turn the AC off, I can watch the temp drop back down. I made this observation today while going 70 on the freeway. Is this normal? If not, what is the best solution?

Also, the oil pressure is always high. It seems like the more I drive it, the higher it gets. What is the cause of this and how do I fix it?

I forgot to add, its got the 5.0 with a few boltons.

That is normal unless you are talking off the scale at the top end.

Also, the oil pressure is always high. It seems like the more I drive it, the higher it gets. What is the cause of this and how do I fix it?

The oil pressure gauge has no numeric value. It is an ON/OFF switch set at 6 psi. The needle location has no psi value other than I described.

No its not off the scale, but its about 3/4 to the right, whereas when the ac is off, its only about 3/8.

Why would the needle be right in the middle, or all the way to the right? What causes the needle to move?

The info about the gauge is correct. The needle seems to follow a general trend but I dont know if it's because alternator output is greater at higher RPM's or if there is a crude calibration in the middle range.

Be sure your high-speed fan comes on with AC (sometimes a bad PCM allows only low to come on). Otherwise, the radiator might not be able to reject the extra heat (put into the system by the condenser).

I hooked up the switches for the high and low speed fans (awesome info) and its got a 180 stat, so around town even with AC it stays below 215, 210-215 on the freeway w/ no A/C, but with the a/c on it will climb up to 220 pretty quick(1 minute), thats when I shut the A/C down and deal with the heat, then it will keep climbing, to 225 or so, then it drops back to 210. So how hot is too hot?

If you have the air dam present, the radiator simply might not be able to reject enough heat while at speed.

FWIW, the factory high speed temp setting is 226*F, so that gives an idea of what Ford thought to be a hot temperature. If you have alum heads, that number will be a bit lower.
