Running rich, where to start?

same boat here, horrible gasoline smell. Just like raw unburnt gas. Add a match and Id be a fireball. Ive replaced wires, plugs, cap, rotor, coil, module, fuel filter ans added an Afpr with gauge. Adjusted timing various points from 8-16 btdc. Adjusted fp from 25-42 and all back down to 10btdc with 38fp. tried to get codes with a test light= no codes.

Trust me, no one can help you! LOL! Ive been at it for over 2 months typing away here and everywhere and LOL! Next parts I'm throwing at it are a new fuel pump and pickup coil. Then maybe some new 02s, then I'll go ahead and throw my full exhaust setup on. Then a MAF conversion. Then.... and then... and then. of course,, someone already knew what my freaking problem was all long! LOL!! Good luck!

Lets see some answers!

whooa that is pretty crapy if you ask me. if you have a multimeter on accesses you can tap into the signal return line on your o2 sensor in closed loop it should bounce between 0-1v faily quick. (note higher voltage is richer mixture lower voltage is leaner.) if your running rich itll show with a higher voltage. If it is switching pretty slow then it is probably starting to get lazy and you need a new one. Also check your maf. I assume your running an aftermarket intake if you use the oils to clean your filter and you heavily oil it then it can contaminate your maf and will make you run rich. Check the little heater inside your maf to see if it is black or dirty looking. good luck

This is some of the best advise you'll get for this problem. Follow it! :spot:

I second that, :nice: what type of maf do you have?
