A month or two ago, I wrote in about rust colored specs on my white 04 GT. They are not very visible, but if you get within 12-18 inches of the car and look at it closely, you can see them, and they cover the entire car. Noticed it within a week of buying it new at the end of January. Finally had a Ford factory rep. visit the car at the dealership today. As someone suggested here when I wrote in, sometimes when they are transported by rail, rust from the rails or from the train can kick up, and be so hot that it imbeds into the paint when it hits the cars. Ford rep. confirmed that suggestion yesterday. They are going to take care of it. It will be in the body shop for about a week May 2nd. They're giving me a loaner car. I'm glad they owned up to it. He suggested they will probably be wet sanding it. I'm assuming that means they would have to put a new clear coat on it. Before the Ford rep. looked at it, I clay barred a portion of the hood and it helped, but it only reduced the size of the specs, not get rid of them. I hope the body shop knows what they are doing.
