Friend of mine has a 1996 ( I Believe ) 3.8 Supercharged Mustang with a 5spd. Now, his clutch & throwout bearing is going bad so Its about time to replace some parts and he wants to know what clutch he should look into getting. The car is only making around 210HP (My estimate from driving the car) and hes kind of a noob when it comes to driving but he hopes to get into drag racing at our local track, so the clutch needs to be able to put up to alittle abuse.

I appreciate any and all feedback. :nice:

I hope that's 210 at the wheels, other wise. :nonono: Anyway, have him look into a spec, centerforce, RAM, clutchmasters... etc. www.rpmoutlet.com Has a Ram stage 1 clutch, that's the one I use and I like it... that should be good for him, he won't need to much more than that if he's going to be useing that car.

Well, I drove the car and it seems like its slower than a bolton 5.0. So Im assuming its making only around 210HP. The kid is only 17 and he literally just got the car running right so It'll probably be getting more power soon (Ill personally be working on it, so if I have my way it will anyways)

i donno about the 210 and being blown ,what kind of s/c. does he have? is it innercooled? anyways..i have a spec stage 1 on mine, and its blown..its doing pretty good, my throw out is going out though, but the clutch seems to work pretty fine

I'd look into a spec stage 1 with aluminum internals, I think it could take the punishment. Don't get centerforce clutches..I've heard nasty things about them for mustangs. I'm looking into a RAM as well though, cheap and durable. Somewhere I saw a king cobra clutch for a 3.8 for like $150 but that seems like TOTAL :bs: to me. Maybe it fits, but I never realllly looked into it.
