OK so I am not going wild on boost like most, just getting a MagnaCharger just in case Chevy ever puts out that two door something or another I keep seeing at the auto show. So my question is, what are the most important gauges to have? I know A/F is a good one but don't know what to pair it with....

Also along those same notes, the G-Tech Pro RR. Does anyone use one or something similar that plugs into the OBD-II port? It looks like it would be helpful and a fun toy but I don't know much about the performance meters and there are more and more on the market everyday now.

Boost and fuel pressure. Fuel pressure is very important to monitor.

I have the Autometer D-PIC gauge. I've never used it, but it measures rwhp, accelerattion G's, Lateral G's, braking times, and a list of other things. It also puts on a great light show. It just uses switched power and doesn't use the OBD-2 port.

Boost? Is it important to watch boost pressure under the 8PSI mark? I am only going to be running about 5 for a while.

The boost gauge is to MAKE SURE you are "only" running 8PSI (no more no less). I would also recommend boost and fuel pressure. I wouldn't bother with A/F ratio unless you are going to buy a wideband sensor and driver for it. If not, the narrow band O2s on our cars won't tell you much.

A boost gauge will allow you to monitor the fact that everything is functioning properly. When I had a centrifugal blower one of the sections of tubing popped a hose clamp off which resulted in a loss of boost pressure. It was immediately apparent on the gauge. I still say the fuel gauge is the most important especially when taching up rpm's. You need to make certain the fuel pressure is up or you'll run lean and BOOM!

No one has any opinions on the performance meters like Hypertech's Hyperpac, Gtech's SS and RR offerings, SCT's Dash scan, The Dash Hawk or any of the many others that are out or coming out soon?

Sorry, but I have never used one. I think they are a great idea, but I can't speak to their accuracy. The only gauges I have on my car are Autometer (I have boost, fuel pressure, and their wideband gauge which included the wideband O2 sensor, controller, and wiring).

So boost and fuel pressure are the most important to keep an eye on? I am getting some VDO gauges this weekend, so thank you for everyones in put.
