Saleen blower is on

crab, it's definitely an interesting article, with good info for anyone who's not seen inside this motor. I think saying it "can't be supercharged" is a harsh statement, which has been proved wrong by hundreds of people running blowers. It's definitely not the optimum setup for supercharging, but then again, all factory Ford motors have SOME limit to how much they can take stock.

Polk, Saleen does not offer pulleys. You have to either get them made, or find someone who's made them already.

Tom, no numbers yet, gotta wait for some free time to get the car on the dyno. Need a break in shop action for that and it's pretty busy right now. Soon, though.

Hey Sal,

do you have a link to more pictures of your ride? everyone is stoked about your saleen blower, which is warranted, but i'm really interested in the looks of your car also.

your rocker panels say COBRA, right? and you have Saleen 5-spoke white wheels on her, right? i saw a small picture of it in another post. i think your rally stripes, rocker panel stripes and white wheels are an awesome combination.

i tried your gallery, but i get a blank page. i'd love to see large pics of your awesome ride.

thx,
harry

Harry, look in the talk section, under "more and bigger 05 Cobra pics".

Any dyno numbers? what tuner are you using? (sct2 or pred) what's the custom pully size and do you need any special tools to remove / replace.

I have not had a chance to get it on my dyno yet. The shop has been too busy, and I am here till late at night doing customer work most days as it is.

Aside from that, I need to drop the gap down on the plugs before I go WOT with the car, and I haven't gotten the gapper tool from ATI yet. So it will have to wait until then.

As for the tuner, I use/sell both SCT and Diablo, but I am using the Xcal2 on this particular car (with a Diablo MAFIA :)). I am using a 3.4" pulley on my setup (should be about 12-14 psi).

I have gone about 3/4 throttle with it on the street though, and it pulls like crazy :-).

i know most of you dont probably know who sal is and im not trying to brag on him but he is one of the top lightning tuners in the country.when it comes to making horsepower he can get as much or more as anyone.i bet he can get that 500 hp with no problem.and sal thats one sharp mustang.

Hey Sal,

I saw that you are running Bassani Axel-backs on your SC 05. I am interested in buying them for my car but I'd like to know how they sound compared to say flowmasters. Any advice would be great :flag:

P.S. (You got a sweet ride love the wheels)

Can't comment on the flowmasters but i picked up my Bassani from Sal a few weeks back and they sound awesome. I love reving the enigine just to here them. I have had many compliments on how "mean" the car sounds. Even had another 05 owner nearly run me off the road to ask me what exhaust I had. I say you can't go wrong with them.

I had a tour of the Saleen facility last week and saw the Supercharger update kit to be released in about two months; reportedly test show a 480hp. Kit consists of 42lb injectors, smaller pulley, 91 mass air plus Saleen's new cold air intake.
