Wondering if it's worth adding the areo kits? Wheels? As far as engine, I'll continue with Tim, but wondering if anyone's done the aero and how much did it cost (other than list price at Saleen)? And how difficult was it to install?

installation isn't the hard part. It's the cost that'll kill the wallet.. If you're going for "the look" go for it but personally i think it's a waste....

I've heard alot of bad stories about installing Saleen kits. I've read people say that they're the rejects that didn't go on the production cars. The cheapest I've found the kit was like $1300.

Yeah, I agree... the $$ just don't add up when I've been pricing... just looking at making my baby more aerodynamic for the best expenditure of $$$....

Yeah, the kit is expensive, but it looks dang good. And there aren't really any other kits out there that look good as well. All kits are good for are looks. They are not going to help much, if at all in the drag coefficient. Plus, they will just add more weight to your car.

Expensive, but sweet!

The body kit is just a fraction of the cost. If you take it to a good body shop they're going to charge you a lot to fit it and paint it properly. Not to mention that a Saleen body kit looks like ass without nice rims and some suspension work.

Just tossing #s around:
$1,300 body kit
$2k - $3k labor
$700 - $2k wheels (knock offs vs. real Saleen rims)
$600+ new tires
$200+ lowering springs (a lot more if you want to do it right)

I got in an accident last September and decided to do the Saleen body kit with center exhaust. Luckily for me, insurance will pay for a lot of it. If I had to pay out of pocket, the amounts quoted above is what I'd have to pay. I would definitely not be doing it.

I just bought the full saleen kit. It needs paint and didn't come with any mounting hardware or even holes in the valences. It is expensive and I would say that there are only three reasons to buy it. (1) It looks really good (2) The hood has vents on it that work really well for cooling (3) The front valence is built so that you can attach a cold air/ ram air onto it to feed your supercharger. Im glad I bought it but then again I don't know how to install it. Came with no directions but can't be that difficult. Anyone know and pain prep trick on Urethane??

I you're going to do it please do it right the first time. Don't get the fiberglass. What's $500 savings on something that costs $2,000 to install?

The kit looks killer, prep work is a bit of a PITA, but find a good shop that has experience with the kits and you will be very happy.
I get tons of compliments on mine.
Its not cheap though..

kit 1165
Tonnaue cover 435
Wind Guard 175
Side scoops 159
Light bar 450
Plus paint and install ouch
