I was going to wait until I was finished with the museum. However, since the floor isn't going in for months, I thought I would give everyone a sneek peek:

a 1250sqft garage dedicated to the Saleen enthusiast.

P.S. If you would like to make a donation to the Saleen Museum floor fund, please let me know so I could get the floor in sooner. With a garage this size, I could buy another foxbody to add to the collection with the amount of cash it will cost

Robert,

Huge Garage! I didn't know you had a Black Stang as well. I saw Jim K
last week at Mustangs in the Park. He said you had a huge garage. Man
he wasn't kidding. I hope all is well! Good luck with your projects!

Regards,

Barry K

Very nice! You need a few lifts in there so you can store more cars lol.

Where is the 85?

What is the story on the Cobra vert? Never heard you talk about it? Nice looking car too..

....that's my buddies 98 SVT Cobra vert. It was his daily driver for a few years before he bought a truck. I'm storing it for him for awhile. It has a complete Maxium Motorsport suspension kit, vortech blower, saleen bodykit and wheels, T1 Saleen race wing and a few more goodies. I've got a few more pictures of the walls with the framed posts hung. It doesn't look as big until you get a few cars in it. I've also have a friend bring over a few additional cars for storage. If all goes according to plan, I'll have eight cars stuffed in there in a few weeks.....

.....a few lifts are in the works, however I don't have enough ceiling space to put them in as of yet. I need to take the roof up a few feet in order to make room. Being close to 25' wide, I should be able to get three lifts across in the back. Just like it was said, there is alot of potential. Now you can see why I jumped all over this house when I saw it for sale. Its been a lot of work so far and still have alot of work left, but well worth the potential. I removed a few non-weight barring walls, ran all new electrical, reinsulated, hung drywall, textured, primed and painted. I made 3 dump runs with close to 3 tons of "stuff" either left or torn down.

.....Ive got a 13,000sqft lot. For some that isn't much, but in Orange County, its HUGE. All the new homes are built on top of each other and you have zero room for expansion. Hell, I've got a 70 foot driveway, I could make the garage even bigger if I wanted

.....you don't want to see the 85!!, its still in pieces from the fire a few years back. It's covered sitting in front of the garage next to the donor car. With any luck, the restro will begin after the wedding in October

That's a nice sized garage. I need something that big. I knew that Cobra sitting in there is not yours. Why? It's NOT white.

....what is the deal?? I've got more comments and questions about that damn black car then about the museum or the white cars. And hear I thought this was a "saleen" forum. I wonder what will happen when I get my buddies 93 Corba "R" in the museum.......

....but it will be no problem to get a few more pictures of the black cobra for everyone as it is the hot "topic" of our discussion.......

Wow, Robert, you mean the "Saleen Museum" actually exists?!?

And here I thought that all this time you were just trying to make everyone jealous...

Unfortunately I have the stereotypical SoCal garage arrangement; e.g. twin single car garages. But the one in which my Cobra currently resides will sometime in the future be a minature duplicate of your abundant abode; e.g. new floor coating, fresh paint, improved lighting & a rotating collection of framed posters from my Saleen, FoMoCo & IMSA/SCCA archives.

Lookin’ fine. I see you have a fridge along the right hand wall, which is a good start. Do you also have room for a flat screen and wet bar?

....Do I have room? Yes! Will it take away floor space for parking cars? Yes! Do I have future plans for a loft in the garage for the hangout room/wetbar/car room? Yes! Will I eventually have three lifts in, so I can store ten cars? I think you get the theme of the answers. I just need to start the Saleen Museum remodel foundation. Anyone want to make a donation??

Yep. Been busy traveling most of the last few months. You should have received some emails from me regarding SCOA and the National Show, however.

Robert,

Sounds like a nice plan. You know I should be able to help out with light fixtures but I am completely out of car lifts.

What kind of floor are you planning to put in?

I just finished building my shop and am thinking of painting the floor.

.....I've been looking into RaceDeck. Looks like a very nice quality floor. But the price is stupid expensive. I've found four different brands so far, here's what I found:

Lowe's Brand (Gladitor) - $4.99 per sq ft
Sears Brand (No name) - $3.99 per sq ft
Racedeck - $2.69 to $3.69 per sq ft
Costco Brand (Motofloor) - $1.89 per sq ft

....at these prices I could find real hardwood flooring!! I've got an Ikea close that does pergo flooring for .69 Sq ft. That would be just as good IMHO. I've also looked into Composite Vinyl Flooring and the garge floor paint!

One of my buddies had some one install the same flooring found in supermarkets. Seemed to hold up good, but he sold that house about a year after the install. We couldn't see how it would handle long term wear and tear.

Another buddy tried using the floor paint kits. Don't hold up for *hit. I was told that you have to be perfect in the prep in order for that to work properly. It takes a 3 or 4 stage process to get the floor just right to adhesive correctly.

In a nut shell, I've heard pro's and con's for every type of flooring you can think off. I just haven't decided how much I'm willing to spend and exactly how I want it to look.......Ideas are always welcome however if I don't like it or don't use it, please don't be offended. It's just constructive criticism. (disclaimer warning )
