too much money for too small of a blower. i would rather have my novi anyday. i thought about the saleen blower to match the rest of my car, but the performance to money ratio was not right!

I think that Saleen has a great product....but you end up paying a lot for the name....if the price of their blower dropped about 1500$ I think it wouldn't be looked over as much....it's too hard to beat the power of a KB or the reliability of a Mongoose kit for the price

I just got a saleen s/c and it is great, has anyone had any reliablility problems?

The saleen kit is a good kit, but not for the price you'd pay new. You can find them used for around 2k which is a good deal. As others have said, they are limited in power because of the manifold which needs porting, and the intercooler needs to be sealed up. I spent a good 20 to 30 hours porting mine. It is not an easy job. It is a very reliable kit and a lot of fun on the street since the boost comes on early it make it pull like a big block.

hey what did you use to seal the intercooler with?

Most dislike saleen due to it's cost/power ratio. Just stick with the KB or Vortech/Paxton and you'll be happier.

Because that ****'s expensive for the power gains it gives

Some people have metal welded in around it, but I used a 1/2 phenolic plate that I bought off ebay and cut it to fit so it covered all the gaps. It took some time to shape it in perfect, but it can be done with a file and a jig saw.

yeah it is expensive but it comes with a nice little upgrade that puts the engine around 475 and that is the highest horse power I can find with a warranty. After all it is driven everyday.

Yeah I know its expensive but with the nice little upgrade it puts out 475 and thats the most horse power I can get with a warranty after all I drive it every day, Semper Fi Houston

You must be talking about the 3 valve version. No way are you going to get 475 out a saleen sc on a 2 valve without N2O.

No, they are still 4.6's, just everyone in here is talking about the 2 valve versions. The 3v version of the saleen sc is a totally different animal. They re-engineered the way the intake is setup, and seems like an extremely nice unit for the new mustangs. Looks like they make very good power with minimal boost, so there is plenty to tap into when swapping pulleys. You shouldn't have the same intake and intercooler problems with that one.
