Saleen wing came today

Just got my saleen wing today from speedworx.com it is the s281 wing for a 94-98 and it came with 6 allen key bolts and 6 washers but only 2 holes on the wing. Im not so sure thats gonna hold it on and when I try to screw them in it seems like they are the wrong thread.

Has anyone put one on and had any trouble with it or any suggestions.

I was thinking I may need some kind of a spacer because the screws do not tighten that much

I can post pics if need be.

I would think there is more than 2 bolts that hold the wing on. I not familiar with the wing you have but only 2 bolts does not sound right to me.

Go ahead and post pics, might help explain a little better

How long are those bolts compared to the thickness of the wing? Would it be possible to drill that hole out in the center of the threads so the bolt will sink in further. Also how many threads of the bolt are in when you tighten it as far as it wil go?

Im not so sure I want to drill it out because it doesnt look that thick. Like 1/2" to the other side

It starts to get tight after like 2 threads or turns but then you can crank it down about 6 more times but it doesnt feel like its the right thread and it feels like it is just messing up the threads on the wing.

When it was on the car it seemed that it had about a half inch to be tightened more before it was gonna actually hold it there snug. So i was thinking like a rubber spacer or washer in between the rear deck and the other washer that comes with the wing.

That still doesnt seem like it will hold it on too well because the back of the wing feels like it will flap around.

I might just take it to the bodyshop and give it to them and say put it on and paint it.

Its BS that they are no longer 4 bolt! Yours is pretty messed up, atleast my bolts screwed in straight. I'd send it back if it was me and tell them to send you a new one. Saleen quality just sucks big time!!! I hear the knock off S281 wings are actually better quality. I used 2 side tape and industrial glue and i am still not happy with mine. I will be drilling more holes soon with some stubby self tapping screws to hold it down snug.

I have heard nothing good about saleen parts. Aparntley they go a little on the cheap side with the parts, but the name Saleen jacks up the price. Why would you pay like 50,000 dolars for a Mustang GT with a cheap body kit on it? That being said I would still love to own a Saleen, just wouldn't buy one myself.

I didnt know that speedworx.com just dropshipped from saleen or I would not have ordered it from there

Im gonna call them up and see whats up with this

BTW I just got my whole new gauge setup.

Autometer C2s
Triple A pillar
Boost
Fuel Pressure
A/F with LC-1 wideband from dynotune
water temp
oil pressure

I bought one from saleen recently. I was surprised at the poor quality. The shop actually had to grind on it some because it was out of shape and very noticable. It looks great now but I would think real hard before I ordered from saleen again.

Well, I got a saleen wing for Christmas. Yeah, it still isn't on the car. I can't get the wing to bend around the trunk lid correctly. I've stretched it, heated it, put weights on it, etc... NOTHING WORKS! Mine only came with 2 holes also, but I drilled two more into it. I am also using double sided 3M tape to keep the wing secure to the back of the car. The wing is prepped, painted, and ready to go, but I still have to take my Cobra Wing off, fill 2 holes, repaint the trunk lid, and then try and install the piece of crap. Yeah, poor quality! You would figure going with the authentic Saleen product would be the right thing to do, right? NOOOOPPPEEEEE..
