Well, I spent a lot of time planning a 331 build up for my 93 GT. But I recently moved- again. The new place doesnt have a garage and I dont really have much space for building an engine inside, plus I think the landlord would kill me. I'm hoping I'm only here for no more than 6 months. Anyways, I saw a nice 2001 saleen the other day. I got a chance to talk to the owner who said he just bought it a week ago for 13k. It has 58k miles, non sc, clean int and ext- beautiful car.

So, long story short.... Im really considering a 01-02 saleen. I haven't been able to find much around here for sale. I think I would want a silver or black one. In my search I came across an 89 saleen. So basically the best of both worlds because I love fox bodies, not to mention another idea of mine was to get another 5.0 (and I want an 89). The sale is pending on the 89 saleen, so I have to wait that out.

What do you guys think? Which do you like better- a 89 saleen or a 2001/2002 saleen?

I guess I can wait awhile because I'm also on a new job search. Maybe If I make more money I can shoot even higher and go with a 03/04 cobra. But a 01-02 saleen in the 11-15k range would be more affordable payments.

But then im torn, cause I think about saving all that money and just making my 93 gt sick, and I could also buy a 89 GT and work on that. Theres days I think a newer car would be nice. Then I also miss my 67 coupe I use to have.... lol

Looking for some opinions, thoughts, experiences, ideas.... THANKS!

Let the 89 go to someone that really wants it and will preserve it as an original car. They only made less than 2400 Saleens for the street between 1984 and 1993. That's less than half the number of Cobras that Ford produced in 1993 alone. They're too rare to mess with.
