Does anyone know if there is a Sirius add on for the Shaker 1000 that would allow all control and function through the existing OEM radio.
I have seen systems for after-market radios that are satellite ready (Alpine, Kenwood, ect..), they are basically a tuner box mounted under dash connected to the OEM radio and then power source and finally to a satellite antenna. I am wondering if anyone has had any luck finding a similar system for the Shaker.
I read somewhere that the Shaker was manufactured by Delphi but can't find anything about it on their site and local Ford dealers have been no help.
Last bit of info that leads me to believe that these radios are capable of running satellite radio was a brochure that I found at the dealer while getting an oil change that showed a radio that looked exactly like the shaker and explained how to switch to the satellite function by selecting the AUX button then went into detail as to how the other controls on the radio function with satellite.

get rid of your shaker system, it was the best move i have made on mine so far. Your speakers will come alive when you get a real deck and most aftermarket decks will handle sattelite radio. My eclipse deck sounds great

I didn't think Visteon made the Shaker systems. Ford used Visteon for the Mach systems but I thought went with a different company for the Shaker.
Ford shows an aux cable in its 2006 accessory catalog for ipods, satellite radios, etc. It's called triptunes.
But I can't find any information on this cable, price etc., how to install or if it will work with a 2005. Anyone have any information.

I read on another site reviewing the Mustang when it was first released stating that Delphi made the Shaker for Ford. I can't find any evidence of this on their site and I think they make parts for GM so it's not adding up.

If anyone out there has added a Satellite system to theirs can you please post pics or any info on how it was done, thanks for the help.

I used a fm modulator. The sound is OK, not as good as a direct hook-up. Ford has a cable called Triptunes in the 2006 accessory book that is supposed to allow direct connection. My dealer can find out nothing about this cable, though.

I ordered the Trip Tunes. Its nothing more than Scosche FM-MOD01 fm modulator, with Ford Trip Tunes written on it and a fancy toggle switch and aux plug that sticks inside the glovebox. Kind of high $50 when I bought the Scosche for my wife's car at Walmart for $20. Works just as good. Just not as clean looking toggle and input is just a wire coming into the glovebox but works the same. I'll add a pic of the fancy toggle / input to my garage. Check it out there. I went aftermarket head unit with direct controls for the ipod and Sirius. I have no regrets.

This is what I used in my 2006 F-150. Used it to add XM. Can also plug an IPod in (using the headphone jack of the IPod). Much better than FM modulation. Plugs into the input that the rear seat entertainment or CD changer would plug into. The Xm or IPod then comes in as the AUX input.

If you have to pay someone to install that, though, you can change the head units for about the same price and gain much better controls over the ipod. That's not to mention the fact that an aftermarket head unit sounds better.
