Hi guys I this is my 1st post and I got a few questions.

Well I picked up a 1996 mustang GT with the 5 speed. I want to make this car into a weekend drag racer/street rod, but nothing to crazy:lol: . Well my plans are to fully strip the car down. But I mean nothing but to seats and a dash. I want to drop a 302 into it.

But before that I'm gana take out the ac back seat and everything else that is not good for going faster.

My question is will a 302 from jegs bolt into the car or will I ahve to fab up some stuff. I plan on running slicks and everything else. Also I need some advice on a 4link suspention or any suspention info I can get to keep the power to the ground.

Well I'll be back on here tomarrow to check up on this thread

thanks
Bryan

damm guys

I got some fast replys on this forum.

The reason I wanted to do the motor swap is becuase the current v8 4.6 on the car has well over 250k on it.

But I'm open to all info and advice.

also how much would it run me to rebuild this motor, or how should i go about doing so?

also to turbo or supercharge?

thanks

Bryan

can you please explain the PI swap? what is involed

thanks

Bryan

PI stands for "power improvement" ford introduced a new head/intake/cams for the SOHC engine for the stang. starting in 99 they got a bump in power. I "think" dont hold me to it but you can do a head/cam/intake and with the stock engine the power will be a more then it would be on a 99+ car. i again "think" the compression is higher too. dont hold me to any of that i just know that by switching to 99+ PI heads yeilds good power gains for a relatively good price.

again depending on what kinda power you had in mind would determin if u should keep the block or go aftermarket.. i vote you go turbo :nice:
