SC-Trim Boost Question

I am looking at the 8-rib upgrade kits on Vortech's website and I see an 8" Blower/4.6" Accessory kit and I was wondering if this would work for my application. I am a little concerned with such a small accessory pulley as I DD this car so I would not like to underdrive my whole system to the point where it will not function correctly, I have an upgraded 6G alternator but I have not yet ditched the stock mechanical fan. Would this kit work fine for my car?

Also, I have a stock SC-Trim with a boost pipe and currently get 6.5-7psi of boost. Which pulley should I upgrade to with an 8" crank pulley?

I think the stock pulley is 3.33"

Thanks!

You should have bought the S-trim instead almost the same price and you get the 8-10psi with the 3 year warrenty still. I would upgrade the crank first to get boost before the blower pulley. You could go with teh underdrives but I wouldnt....just me. Try the crank pulley and see how much boost you get and if you are not satifiied and I would prolly try the 2.95 pulley since you can keep the stock belt

I got my kit for $1,300 and I couldn't afford an S-trim when I purchased it.

I am not going to just upgrade the crank pulley because I am switching to an 8-rib setup, I don't want a crapload of belt slip.

How much would a 4.6" Accessory Pulley underdrive my setup?

I want to get the most belt wrap possible for the least slip but it looks like I might be stuck with a 6.87" Crank/2.95" Blower because that comes with a 6" accessory pulley.

Well I am running that crank pulley and I have a 2.75 pulley and I dont have any belt slippage. I made 13 # at 4500 rpms we will see what it will make once I get this pump in.....but I have the s-trim kit

Ok that is good to hear.

I think I am going to get the 2.85" pulley, Dez is going to be tuning this and i will have a snow kit aswell so I think it will be able to handle it.
