Scott Drake (accumatch) Customer Service

I just want to rant about Scott Drakes customer service.

I purchased 2 cans of AccuMatch gold engine paint and according to the directions it says to spray several light coats for best finish. This just left a rough metallic overspray texture that lightly flakes on my hands every time I handle the parts. So I re-sanded my valve covers and air cleaner and sprayed the 2nd can in perfect conditions (temp & humidity) and had the same result at first..........unless I sprayed it on super wet, which I did. This resulted in a few runs but a much better result than the 1st time but I'm still not happy with the result for $8 a can......

I called the number on the back of the can and they said they do not handle warrantee claims, I need to work with the shop I purchased it from (their web site says different???). I explained they need to take their promise of satisfaction off the back of the can and the customer service rep thanked me for my call....

I was polite, I promise....oh well, they suck.

So I will work with my mustang shop next time I am over there.

most of the spray paints we get here in california are like spraying water.it takes several coats just so you cant see through it. i started using rust olium oil base spray cans . it takes over night to dry ,but very good results. the problem is your limited in colors.oh now that i have said i like rust olium they will probably remove it from the shelvs. we can still get centari in spray cans ,but the price per can is outrageouse. duplicolor ceramic is very good and i think they have ford gold ,i know they have both blues ,black and flat black . most of the paints here a flooded with acetone and it almost dries in mid air ,thats probably what you are experiencing. remember when there was actualy paint in spray cans? they change automotive paints and primers on us so much you cant keep track of it. you never have a clue what you will be spraing from one month to the next. the hobbiest is just screwed . aaand thats my rant.:nonono:
