is it possible to get scratches out of black paint...i had my car repainted last november...

it was parked outside and some dust/sirt settled on it and somebody walked by a run there fingures along my wing, from mid. of wing to driver side of wing...left some really noticeable scatches but i dont think they're too deep.

any help is very much appreciated...thanks

by the way im furious, i think it was some kids that play out back of my apartment...

Sure, it's possible. Depends on how deep the scratch is. If it penetrated past the clearcoat, you're SOL. But...otherwise, you should be able to get it out.

How to best get it out depends on how deep the scratch is. If it's pretty deep, you'll probably need to wetsand that area then go over it with a rotary/PC and a swirl mark remover. If it's somewhat deep, you should be able to get it out with a rotary and a good swirl/scratch remover. If it's not too deep, you should be able to get it out by hand or with a PC...

If you can catch your fingernail in any of the scratches you can only reduce visibility, removing them would go through the clearcoat. To remove them you are going to need a buffer, but you could probably hide it by hand. Meguairs makes products for this, too late at night for me to remember though.
