My first post here... sorry it's not a pleasant one.

I got a 99gt off a dealer(north texas nissan) through ebay. This was may 28th. It was advertised as a clear title. So, I paid and picked it up they said they were going to process it and the title will be there in a couple days. 6 weeks later still nothing. Then they say "apparently when we did the trade it they forgot to get the title from the guy and now can't get ahold of him". So now it's the end of august and still nothing. I can't register or sell it since there's no title.

On top of that I later discovered it's been hit in the front. Also, the paint's got spider cracks everywhere from the sun damage. The stock manifold was cracked and leaking and the alternator was bad. Front wheel bearings bad on the left wheel. Bad pilot bearing and throwout bearing. No cats, whiny rear end with some vibration. Transmission magically broke while coasting in 1st with the clutch pilled in. Car won't go anywhere and makes no noise. I havn't even bothered looking at what could be wrong there. Some other stuff...

Long story short, they refuse to buy it back so I'm going to hopefully force a buyback through the dmv.

In the meantime, I installed throwout bearing and pilot bearing, wheel hub, spark plugs, new manifold, new tires, alternator.

Thanks!

Max

Have you talked to the owner? He posts on one of the local boards and generally bends over backwards to help folks there. I believe his username is cele3.

Not sure if it's applicable in your state, but in FL, you cannot sell a car without CATs, new or used, emissions testing or not (we no longer have emissions testing). Been there, done that - force the dealer to put a new exhaust system on. (Note - have since gone back to an offroad setup, but needed to prove a point with these particuliar a$$holes)
As far as being wrecked...that's just the luck of the draw. Paint defects...? Dittos there too. It's a used car. Did you get any kind of warranty? Did you buy this site unseen????

Cele3 (Rob) is either the onwer or majority partner, not sure. I dont know who does the ebay cars there but several of the other NTN staff also monitor that forum.

I would approach the dealer owner of GM and discuss your problem with them. If they don't do anything, draft up a brief and accurate letter to the Attorney General and let them rattle their cage.

I would turn the car back over to them.

They "sold" you a car with no title, therefore they have no right to re-sell the car. You've waited long enough for them to "reasonably" produce a clear title without satisfaction. It's time for them to do one of two things; provide you a refund for monies paid for the car (they may want to charge some "usage" fee, though you're not obligated to pay), or provide the clear title.

Get a consultation with a lawyer and check your true options...you may not have to be saddled with a lame pony...
