SCT SF3 Rev Limiter

On the SCT SF3 tuner, is setting a specific rev limit amount a simple process of just keying in the rev limit rpm, or do you need a custom program? For a particular reason, I would like to use it to set a rev limit under 3000 rpms on certain occasions, and wondering the simplicity and process of this option. Thank you in advance.

im not sure about an sf3. mine supposed to be an x3 but it was manufactured before a certain date so it's now considered an sf3. but anyways on mine yes u can just go and adjust to that easy, it will retune it when you do, but it only takes less than 2 minutes to do. but im not sure how low it goes, ive never tried to set it below 6000.

It is an option. There is a "neutral" (neu) limit which is the limit when you are stopped. I have mine at 3000 and mess with people at redlights- and i think it will go down to 2500. It also helps with the launch if you need it. The "drive" (drv) limit is self explanatory.

if you have a manual transmission you don't want to set it that low though, because i think it just wont let your engine go over whatever you set the neutral rev limit to.

The canned tunes from SCT are like that but my custom tune works like i described. I'd forgotten about that. My car is a 5 speed and having the two step rev limiter is one less thing to concentrate on when launching on street tires. It also gets funny looks out of Prius drivers at redlights.
