It's not the hardware. It's the tune. Email Justin your concerns, or give Bamachips a try. Your canned AM tune shouldn't be nearly as good as your email tune. Something is off.

There are a lot of tuners out there that will modify throttle position to make the car "feel" different. It doesn't make the car any faster. It doesn't make any more power. It's marketing, especially for people who don't dyno or race their car. The butt dyno can tell a different story than the truth. This is how some tuners create "torque" tunes, etc. Most tuners don't do it and will all tell you that it's nothing but marketing. Dyno graphs and 1/4 mile times don't lie.

Yeah SCT is definately the best.. I was just at dallas msuatng and all the guy was talking about is how much he hated the diblo tuner. Its just the tune. The preprogrammed tune should give you about 20 depending on uprgrades. A custom tune will do much more

Darkfire is correct...a tuner is a tuner....the hardware isn't important it's the tune itself that is no good. I don't think think there would be a charge if you purchased a tune from the same person.

I'll have to disagree with that. While they do modify the pedal travel, there is clearly a difference in power between a torque or race tune and a performance tune from Bamachips. The differences can be clearly seen on the dyno.

i'm confused now haha!!so does that mean that i have to take my car to the dyno to get good result? in other words buying a programmer is worthless if you don't take the car to the dyno???(i'm new sorry)

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I'm not talking about "pedal travel" though. Every tuner modifies "pedal travel" to make the car more responsive but I'm talking about throttle position. Ask the "other" big name tuners who don't modify throttle position why they don't do it. Kevin MacDonald, Justin Starkey, Brenspeed. Mike Troyer would probably even agree.

Don't be sorry, we all have to learn at some point. The tuner does matter. There are plenty of people out there selling tunes including "mail order tunes" that don't know what they're doing. Than there are the guys like VMP Tuning, Brenspeed, etc who do know what they're doing. I've seen some tuners put out worse numbers and a worse A/F number than a mail order tune from some of the big name guys that I've mentioned.

All I'm saying is that my Brenspeed and Bama Performance tune were pretty much even. My Bama Race tune took nearly .3 off my 1/4 mile. Whatever the difference may be, it worked.

But I'm going to try VMP too.

soo it means that i can get a better tune from VMP than the one they sent me before? and it could be better if i go to a dyno....(the inly problem is that to do that i need to go out of town) and i don't know how far).

Why don't you just call VMP Tuning and talk to him about the tune?
