Seafoam is teh *****!

I don't think the ne with the red hoses is the PCV... is it? It seems to go into the fuel lines, at least on my car, I pulled one of the hoses that comes out of the passenger valve cover and goes int othe upper plenum... but then again mines an 01 and i think the yhanged it sometime between then.

On hindsight, if you should get suction from either valve, however you have to use a straw with the video method, however both go into the upper plenum, so I think its basically the same thing.

Am I right or was my car smoking for no reason?

You are right :) They both feed into the upper intake, so it still got into the engine. You should be able to put it in any vacuum line that leads to the intake. And NO, the one with the red hoses coming off of it is NOT a PCV valve.

ok i actually put the seafoam directly into the vacuum line that goes into the valve cover not the plenum. I really hope i didnt do any damage, im gonna try it again tom the right way, anyone know if i cuda done any damage to my engine putting seafoam into the tube that goes dir into the valve cover

I haven't noticed any damage, and I did it that way the first 2 times.

doing it that way just makes it so that it goes into the crank case, because it all drains down to it

So either way is OK?
Is one way better or easier than the other?

Yes, either way is okay. I didn't know about the way ponysarepretty did it, but his way seems a lot easier as you can use the tube to suck it straight out of the can whereas my way you have to use the straw. Neither way is better, they go to the same place.

I think they changed the PCV location, however I couldn't pull out the red line and didn't want to use too much force, so I pulled the one under the intake hose. However it is fairly wierd trying to get the PCV valve out from under the mess of wires and the big hose.

You don't pull the actual red line, but the black hose connecting the plenum to the 2 red lines.

Well I did it. :D

I used an empty water bottle and some small tubing for fish tanks.

I sucked about 1/3 of the can into the upper intake, shut off the car, and waited just over 5 minutes.

Then I started that car, and revved it around 3k - 4k RPMs.
Lots of white smoke for about 10 - 15 seconds and that was it.
Very easy.

The smoke show was OK.
Unfortunatly, I had to watch it from inside the car as I revved, so I could not see the full effect.

I'm not sure yet if it made a difference yet, but I'm sure it was good to clean whatever carbon deposits there were.

Next I will pour some into the oil, and then the gas tank.

Teh seafoam will never die :hail2:
That's cool I do not have a problem with SeaFoam, I use it and I like it.

It is just that there seems to be so much confusion and misinformation in this thread...

Use it three ways, simple as that:
-in gas (one can to a tank of gas)
-in crankcase (half a can, dump it in where the oil goes, change oil about 100 mile later)
-in intake (suck half a can in the vacuum port or pcv port, shut off engine, start back up ten minutes later)

That's it :nice:

Some people, like myself, don't know where the PCV valve or any vacuum lines are leading to the intake. Not so simple in that case. :notnice:
