I am (this week) going to start the job of removing carpet and such to repair parts of my floor pan. I do not know the condition of the pan under the seat pan and was wanting a little guidance. I am thinking I will need to remove the seat pan to see the condition under it, and to do that is it tack welded down? what is the easiest / fastest way to remove these and keep them intact with access to basic tools like a drill or handheld grinder.

thanks for any help

you can check the condition from under the car, other than that, I dont think it would be to easy to save them. You could drill out the spot welds, but new pedistals are pretty cheap, I wouldn't bother trying to save them.
