SERIOUS HELP NEEDED

And to clarify on the "buzzing noise"...it happens anytime i am about half throttle and up. The reason why i'd put money on it being the torque convertor is that it happens in drive, and also in park....and the noise is definatly coming from the transmission. Now buzzing is probably the wrong word to call it, but cant think of a better word

Okay..

Would you classify it as a "chatter," or a high-pitched rattle?? Maybe the pump was installed wrong?? Are you able to get underneath the car at all?? Can you tell if all of the plugs/harnesses are in good shape??

What about the Torque Converter Inspection plate?? I wonder if the harmonic vibrations from the car being on/revved could cause this noise?? Sounds foolish, but I've seen things like that happen before.

Has the shifting improved at all since all of this madness had started??

I'd say more so a high pitched tone, not rattle...its very constant. At first i was thinking it was the s/c cause the sound reminded me of a root style supercharger (supercharger on top, instead of a centrifigual)

The sound is only heard when i get to about half throttle or more, at idle i do not hear it.

Where is the torque convertor inspection plate? Honestly didnt even know such a thing exists...still learning everything.

And yes and no to the shifting being improved...it does feel slightly better, but i did still notice the slipping around 30 mph. I didnt get a chance to go WOT from 40 up to 70, once i heard the noise i backed off the gas. Car was definatly a beast though!

Thanks!

well, if the dealer sold it to him w/ the procharger on it, do you think he should be able to get them to put the car in working condition? That has to do with the dealer warranty, not the Ford warranty. But I see what you're saying - going into the dealer after a procharger install and demanding they rebuild your transmission for free :rlaugh:

They already supposedly rebuilt the tranny for free...but yeah getting them to do anything now that the 30 days is up, probably not gonna happen. Oh well, good excuse to go out and buy a nice floor jack :D

The procharger was on the car when i bought it, so i would think they would have to get everything working since they sold it with it on there....but we all know how stealerships are.

OH and can somebody chime in on what the J-Mod does? I found a link on how to do it, but didnt explain what it does.

Thanks!

You should be able to find out all you need to know about j-mod at www.tccoa.com

However, I think for a 2004 all the j-mod stuff is already done.

Have you tried simply checking the tranny fluid level?

Also, I got a real nice full size Michelin floor jack at Sam's club for $59, it works very well and was a good price...

i checked that website out before, from what i read all it showed was just how to do it.

Yeah i checked the fluid level, looks good and its nice and red.

when did you buy the floor jack? sams club always rotates out their stock...but damn $59 for a full size is a great price!

Doubt this helps any, but when my 4r70w transmission went out (lost 1st and 2nd) when I attempted to drive the car it would make that whine noise aswell. Kinda reminded me of a fuel pump that was on and never shut off.

It wouldn't happen when cranked, but would when put in drive. I had to replace the transmission along with the torque converter and that fixed the problem.
