I've done an extensive search of this topic on this forum, but haven't been able to find a straight answer. My basic question is this:

I have a 2005 vert with the Shaker 500. I want to add a JL Audio Stealthbox to the trunk with a JL Audio amplifier.

Is there a way to add this aftermarket amplifier and sub using the stock headunit? I do not want to install an aftermarket headunit. If so, what do I need to do to add it?

Also, does anyone have the wiring diagram for the door and rear speakers to determine which color wire is positive or negative?

Thanks in advance for your help.

it's easy!

I've done it. It's pretty straight forward. I just tapped into both rear deck speakers and fed a speaker to line input adapter. Plugged that into my amp, ran power/ground... Put in my JBL 1200 12" Sub and VIOLA!! much better sound with minimal work! Very easy if you've ever messed with car audio!

some of the new amps don't require a remote wire anymore. they turn themselves on when sensing the rca inputs receiving signal. like the sony xplod 1252gtr. 800watts nice power and a cinch to install, but if you still need to set up a remote wire on an amp with that requirement, you can always hit into the ignition with a volt tester and put a t split there, it has the required 12v that most take. good luck
