Shaker Hood Scoop

I saw in the new Mustang Enthusiast magazine that CDC has put out a shaker system for the 94-95s with the stock manifold. I was wondering, How much power gain would you see with the shaker, and where would the power gain be? Ive heard some say it dosent really kick in until 80+ MPH, and others say power gains across the board. I think shakers look badass but i dont know if it is worth a. the money, and b. keeping the stock manifold on

There was a thing on the TV awhile back about the Trans Am ram air hoods... They stuck one in a wind tunnle and the air was actually getting sucked out from teh scoop a little. Might be different for the Mach 1 style since it sits on the top of the hood instead of the front.

Ram air doesn't make any "real gains" until you get to about 1/2 of the speed of sound; No matter what the design.

Here is a link to a page that sells ram air kits. Even they admit that ram air is only effective at high speeds. (only a .176 psi increase in air pressure at 100MPH) You will probably gain 1-2 HP with .176 psi, and it's for a extremely brief period of time.

Probably the same gain you will get with a CAI.

they do an install on a 95 in the 5.0 Mustang mag. Yeah $800 for a maybe 5 hp. not worth the cost, but it does look badass. I think that its more for a show car than anything. if i had one, i would defenately do it though. they look mean
