I am slowly breaking down my 84 and was just curious if this large opening under the shifter boot is normal or if someone has robbed any other gaskets in years prior?

Nope, that's not normal. There is a bottom plate/gasket that bolts to the tunnel itself. It's available through places like LRS I believe.I am slowly breaking down my 84 and was just curious if this large opening under the shifter boot is normal or if someone has robbed any other gaskets in years prior?
