I'm going to be buying a Tremec 600 trans sometime in the near future. It looks like they come with a fairly decent billet Hurst shifter, but no handle. What handle are you guys using on yours, or did you upgrade the entire shifter? Will any handle fit the Hurst base? I heard they have a different thread...

you can pretty much use any handle. The stock one will fit. I use an adjustable MGW one (kinda like the new adjustable UPR one) to set the handle back and towards the center a bit so I don't come so close to hitting the drivers side edge of the center console ('95 GT)

Thanks for the replies. Can I use a Pro 5.0 or Steeda handle on the Hurst base possibly? I thought I read somewhere that the Hurst mounting holes were smaller or that something had to be modified. I'm leaning towards just buying a entire Pro5.0 shifter, but I'm trying to save a few bucks

Yeah i have the Steeda Tri ax handle on mine it works great and i like the feel of my hurst shifter way better than the Pro-50 i had on my t-3550,

shifters are like women everyone has thier own prefrance, thats why there are so many diff kinds out there.

I'll probably just use a Tri-ax handle on the stock shifter for now, and eventually upgrade to a new shifter. Can the Tremec shifter still be easily replaced with trans in the car like a T5? Also I found out that Summit sells the factory Hurst shift handle that should work with the stock shifter. I have the part number if anyone is interested
