Shifter question

ok the problem is my automatic shifter doesnt light up. If i ever have to drive @ night i have to bend real far down to see what gear to put it in. do i just need a new bulb? my buddys 5.0(automatic like mine) has a red light. can you get different colors? can these be found at your everyday AutoZone? thanks

More than likely its the bulb, and yes they're available anywhere. As for colors, ask your buddy where he got his. It's probably the same as the bulbs in the instrument cluster, but pull it out and take it with you just to be sure.
