Right now I have the Pro 5.0 shifter on my Cobra. Its loud, not always smooth, vibrates, and does not seem that short throw at all. Im looking at getting either the Steeda Tri-Ax or the MGW short throw shift.

Ive heard good things about both Tri-Ax and MGW, but out of those 2, which is the smoothest and shortest throw? I really like the Tri-Ax after watching reviews of it.

ive had both the MGW and the triax in my car, and they are very similar...i like the MGW better only because the handle is more adjustable towards the driver, and its just really smooth, and well built....i got a great deal on a triax for $80 in perfect condition, so i hopped all over it, but if i had to buy new, i'd get an MGW:nice:

I have the B&M pro and like it, but it is notchy. I didn't do much research about it, but things I did like about the install are:
1) stop points for 3 & 4
2) you can alter (about 1/2") how far back the shifter sits.
BIG improvement over the flagpole stocker.

Buddy of mine has a MGW in his 97 cobra, and he had a UPR (tri-axe knock off) in his 00gt, I have a mac (its ok), another buddy had a B&M on his 87 fox that ended up with a tko and a pro-5.0.

Basilcy, I have seen/felt damn near all of them. The MGW is...just that good, in like 30sec. your in love. The buddy that has one had it in the car when he bought it and before he knew what one it was called and said "damn this shifter is just plain perfect, I mean its awsome".

I hope to possibly buy it off him since he now has a t56 sitting in his garage it will not fit on:p .

For me its from top (best) to bottom (worst), 5 and 6 can go back and forth

1. MGW
2. Pro-5.0
3. tri-axe
4. UPR-the older ones had a weaker handle, said buddy ripped the shift ball off
5. B&M
6. hurst
7. mac
8. stock
