Whenever I get to about 1500 rpms I hear a slight rattle coming from the shifter base or somewhere around there. And it just gets louder from there. I have a stock t5 and a UPR short shifter. It goes away whenever I let off of the gas or push in the clutch. It almost sounds like a loose bolt. I haven't had time to look yet but when I do I would like some ideas of what to be looking for. Thanks.

Not saying this is the issue because i don't know too much about this subject, but recently (thursday) i heard/felt a slight click/knock comming from the tranny. It blew 3rd a few days ago. Stock T5, just be carefull with the cursed 3rd! Everything ran fine until a couple days before, even then it was a slight click, then boom... need a tremec

a loose bolt. :)

did you install the shifter cup bushing on the new shifter rod (on the bottom of the rod)?

good luck.

I don't know. I bought it used but like new. It came with the base, bolts, handle, and shift knob. Where can I get one of these bushings? Would I have had to taken it off the stock shifter?

Yep. The bushing is a little plastic cup that would go around the bottom of the shifter rod (where it enters the trans). you have to look in the trans where the shifter rod goes to see if the cup is down there, or if it was stuck to the bottom of the original shifter rod, you would have to transfer it to the new shifter. the bushings just helps keep wear and noise down where the two metal parts meet.

the bushing is 3 bucks at the dealer, IF you can find it. they are getting scarce.

good luck.
