I have an 84 SVO and need to replace the shocks and springs. Will any shocks and springs designed for 79-up mustangs work? I know the rear suspension is all the same as any other mustang 79-up. Is the front going to be a problem though, do I have to get svo specific or can I get away without? Any help is greatly appreciated, thanx

You have to use SVO specific struts up front. I know the cost is going to be great but I would suggest going with Konis or Tokicos.

Werent Koni's original equipment on SVO's?

And does he have to retain the Onionhead strut mounts?

you could get your koni rebuilt about half the price of new ones or u could do what i did, i used kyb for a 84 lincoln. they are a little longer but work fine. or you could get mustang struts but then you would need 4-1/4" spacerplates, 1 on each side of the spindel.

Can't you get the Koni's rebuilt? Remember, they are adjustable. You could try setting them on firmest, and driving a little longer.
Also, if you got CC plates, I am pretty sure you can run any 87-93 5.0 fox body strut.
