I see about a year ago Summit sold these for $999. Now they are $1299. less $100. in Summit bucks. Not bad but before I drop the hammer I wondered if I was missing a good deal elswhere. #51400004 or 51400010
I did search the web, CJ Pony and Dallas Mustang had a Labor day sale but they would not discount the heads for some reason.

They run a sale on them once a year (afaik). I bought mine for $1000 last November, so assuming they are going to put them on sale at the same time again this year it'll be soon.

Cylinder heads are a crap shoot used. Any used aluminum head is going to need to be resurfaced and it may need other things. Unless its a screaming deal its not worth the hassle.

Summit owns trick flow, so i would put my money on them having the best price

You could contact TEA, they are the guys who handle all the CNC work for Trick Flow. They'll set up your valvetrain proper, too.

Don't know about price, though. Probably be about the same as Summit.

Yes the 800 dollar cylinder head you buy used on a forum is a deal until you bring it to the mache shop and have it checked, then you walk out of there spending two to three hundred dollars and you are into the heads for 1100 bucks when you coulda got them new for 100 bucks more.

Ive never seen a decent set of trick flow heads sell for under 800 bucks used. Im all about buying used parts, but cylinder heads can "look" nice and still need a valve job, seals, etc. I'd put money on on the fact that any aluminum cylinder head that is used will need to be resurfaced. So that cost needs to be factored in too

You are right, if you dont know what your looking for..... but I bought mine for 600 bucks with 5 passes on them with BRAND NEW trick flow rollers! They were to small for the twin turboed 347 they came off... just got to look. I also bought a set of holley systemax heads for, well, at a good deal.they have had over $600 worth of machine work done on them straight out of the machine shop with BRAND NEW ford racing rollers....
Their out there.....
guess its al in what you want...
