Should I buy it

I love the 99-01 Cobras except for the IRS.

i almost bought an 'o1 cobra because of (among other things) the IRS, i love it. since my mustang is my dd i would kill for an IRS!!


as stated before, if you can get past the color (i couldn't, i hate white cars) then go for it, cobras are nice rides and compared to a 97 gt convertible it should feel a little quicker

It will even feel alot quicker than a 99-04 GT if u can get past the wheelhop.

not everyone goes to the track 3 times a week so i doubt wheelhop is THAT big a deal and besides have you ever driven a 99-'o1 cobra?

No, but ive road in one & watched them launch. But I do have an 03 Mach, which is rated @ 15 less hp than a 99 Cobra & my car feels a hell of a lot quicker than a 99-04 GT. & BTW, ive never even raced @ the track, but i like to launch hard on the street so irs wheelhop would bother me alot. Of course they ride alot smoother than a solid axle.

Ive actually heard the the Machs were underatted from the Factory so that they wouldnt mess up Cobra sales, but Im not sure if this is true. I have never dyno'd my car so I dunno what kind of #s its putin down. I think if a 99-01 Cobra had a solid axle, it would be pretty equivelant to a Mach, although the Machs do have the 03-04 Cobra heads.

Just looking for some opinions here.....

My friends father who owns a subaru dealership got a white 1999 Cobra Coupe in on a trade in and when i showd interest he told me he would hook it up for what he paid for it or so he says, $10k ... its bone stock and has 48k on it and is in excellent condition... if i were to buy it i would have to sell my 1997 ... what do you guys think about the price etc.....

99 cobras didnt come with the suede seats tho,look like gts without the running pony on them.it pretty much is a mach 1 when it comes to power,just toss in 4:10s and your the same since machs came with 3:55

I'd do it. Though i think it'll be harder than you think to sell your car and get the cobra in a quick time frame. Unless you have the cash to get the cobra and then take your time selling your car.
