Should I go to a 65mm Throttle Body?

I thought a 70mm on a mild engine would lose all sort of low end?
That seems to be a common misconception around here. Ask Evan Smith what he ran on his Stock Eliminator, when he was using his stock U/L intake manifold. Ask Ed Curtis what he'd use. Ask a good SBF builder what he'd use. The idea behind why you will lose low-end torque is understandable, but the same theory can be applied to a lot of things that are just not true. My vote is for the 70mm TB.

Yeah, I was reading an article on yellowmustangregistry.com that said on a fairly stock engine, they actually picked up a tad more with a 70mm than a 65mm. I think that too many people on these sites just believe what others say without trying anything themselves and it eventually turns into a huge false rumor.

But to answer the original question...I think it would help certainly. But I, personally would rather spend the money elsewhere. Its just one of those parts that you dont get enuf out of it for what you pay for it.

I would go with 65mm, you will be fine with it as for the comment on the 70mm i have tryed it myself and in that case i lost 5 hp switching from the 65mm up to the 70mm. I strongly advise against the 70mm.

Is anything beyond a stocker really worthwhile at that level of modification? I can see it with new heads and cam, but with stock longblock  .

Throttle body isn't on my "anytime soon" list of mods. I wonder if it should be?

my personal opinion is 70 is a bit too high, a 67 would be great, but oh well... go w/ a 65, you'll notice a ton of improvement in all sorts of areas over stock TB... but if you do heads and some other engine mods like that soon, then go w/ a 70 and accept the consequences in the mean time... you'll bog your engine w/ a 70 now... a 65 would be just about perfect for your current setup...

Again, maybe it depends on the car, but i've seen tests where the 70 is an improvement over the 65 on a mild stang. Who knows...

But as mentioned above, the addition of either one will probably net you like 1-2 HP and similar if not worse TQ gains. Spend the money on somethin else man.
