Should I trade for an ls1???? Am I crazy?

If it were a stick shift car, I'd trade YOUR car in a heartbeat. Since it's an auto, though, I might trade and try to flip it at a profit. I'd love to have an LS, but not if there's a slushbox attached to it.

This is basically what it looks like.

I dont think those cars are dated. Older IROC's yes, 87-93 fox GT's look pretty dated too IMO. The 4th? gen camaros make really cool drag cars and that camaro is a turbo away from being really fast.

do it. if that car's powertrain is in half decent shape you can get 10k for that car. Take off the gay 1st gen badges though.

If you are swapping transmissions the th350 is much easier to get in there than a c4.

98's weren't the best year for the Ls1... In all honesty, I would make the trade, sell, and buy a better Mustang if you don't have an attachment to your current one. The 4th gen's have a horrible cab over engine design. I am not a big fan of... Now if it were an Ls1 3rd gen :nice: but it's not :notnice:

Edit: Looking at the thread of your car... What do you think it is worth? I would say you could prob get $5500 for the Camaro because of the mileage... I have seen 150k mile ones go for about $4500... but after looking at your Mustang it looks pretty good. You did say something about the body being a bit twisted from a past accident, so it might be worth the trade. I would say it is a toss up. If you pass, I doubt you would regret it. I would still make the trade, sell it, and upgrade.

ooh. I missed that info somehow. man that beast may be hard to unload if anyone does some serious tire kicking.

I just don't like F bodies anymore, not since I've owned a Fox. Droopy doors, crappy interiors, leaking weatherstrip... I'm over it. I used to be a Camaro guy. I've still got an '84 and I hope to sell it before Christmas, but that's not looking too good right now :)

It's mainly the T-top cars that have leaks... so that is kinda a biased opinion because most of the T-top fox bodies or ones with sun roofs leak just as bad. Both F bodies and Fox Bodies have crappy interiors. Mustangs have crappy front seats, F bodies have crappy dash pads.

Both cars have their pro's and con's... I mean, I did buy a Mustang and I am a die hard GM guy. I got a good deal on my 5.0, and have only drove it for a week before I got back to Japan.

Excellent motor and they do handle better than a fox, truthfully the exterior has always kept me away from ever seriously considering a 4th gen. If you do have a twisted unibody in your car though and he wants to do a straight up trade I'd probably consider it though, like others said flip the camaro and get a cleaner fox.
