i would keep the slp catback and get a set of center in center out mufflers, with an x if you want qquiter go with spintech sportsman, or louder spin tech prostreets, ive also heard dynomax ultrflows with an x and they sounded great. i know too many people that have 2 chambers and an x, sounds mean and good. i wanted something different so i have spintech prostreets with a prochamber, beats the hell out of an x and flows, i know i had a catted x and one chamber flows

Man as others are telling you I've got the LMII. Just buy the LMII packs and put those on as the LMII sounds so much better.

When you get on it, it sounds like a mean-ass Stang, cruising down the road at 60mph in 5th is almost stock.

Thanks for all the advice....I went ahead and made the swap- The Mach is only a weekend driver- it never see's rain and is put away from the salt-infested winter roads of Chicago, so the lesser quality wasn't a great concern.....

And to afirm my choice- and I kid you not- the fella I swapped with got pulled over the day after the swap for excessive noise coming from his newly installed exhaust!!! (Which was the main reason I got rid of the SLP's- didn't want to worry about the cops anymore!)

well i'll be damned..I just made this EXACT TRANSACTION 2 days ago..i posted my slp for sale and someone from corral bought it..I used to have the slp lm I on my 02 gt vert..now i can the american thunder catback..and Thank God..first off, the SLP loudmouth is a Excellent exhaust aslong as you have a catted xpipe or hpipe..much nicer then 2chamber flows IMO..but with a offroad setup, forget about it..Its digusting..I hated it and put up with it for 9months, the american thunder is clearly 10x better if your going offroad. if your going longtubes..thats a different story..SLP is the way to go.

I have a possible deal with a fellow member of my Mustang Club to trade my SLP Loudmouth's for his Flowmaster am thunder's- my SLP's are the straight pipe variety and I would be getting his Flowmaster's w/ mufflers- I have a Magnaflow off-road X and am trying to quiet her down a bit- would you make this trade??? Why or why not? Thanks in advance for all advice...

That would be like trading chrome Steeda wheels for painted OEM wheels. Also, no "official" numbers but I'd guess that for every 100 Mustangs that have Flowmaster and Magnaflow...probably only 1 has SLP - I wouldn't want to sound like every other Mustang. And what is wrong with a "too loud" Mustang? Just my opinion, but if I wanted tame and quiet I'd probably be driving a Camry.

Loudmouth and a bassani catted X here...is it loud? you bet! do I care? not really. I've yet to find someone who doesnt like the sound of my car, I get people pacing me with the windows down for miles listening to my exhaust. I've had men in minivans with their family ask me to rev it up for them. Flows sound good too but man, I love my SLP!

I've also seen some mixed results at the track with flows... a friend of mine swapped flowmasters for hooker mufflers and dropped 2 tenths off his 1/4...the hookers ran the same time as open headers and sounded almost stock. for me personally, performance exhaust should be straight through.

its pretty obvious none of you have heard a slp loudmouth I matched with a upr offroad xpipe..hahaha..I love loud too, but do you like loud that sounds like a expedition with holes in the muffler? it sounds like a chainsaw between 2500-3500k if you have 3.73 gears..it sounds like something is wrong with the car..at full throttle it sounded pretty mean but other then that it definately was not a daily driver IMO..and I LOVE LOUD..i loved the loudmouth without the offroad xpipe..best exhaust imo..i gotta hear it with cats.

Mine is pretty close to being the same. Wouldn't surprise me if mine was actually louder.

The people I pass must love it nearly as much as I do, because I get smiles and thumbs up every day.

I have 4.10 gears and I'm doing 3k at 75mph...Oooooh what a rush!

Mine probably got nearly twice as loud when I removed the cats...I drive mine every day.
