They pop! It's really starting to get to me. Second set, good for ~4000MI. Anyone else have this happen? Only 7.2" wide. Thinking of 8.5" slicks now...

You gotta remember, even though they are DOT approved, they're still designed for the track. When the rubber is that soft, they aren't goina last very long.

You get 4000 miles out of those! You should be jumping for joy! No wonder they pop. 4k of a BFG DR is really good. Are you not racing on them? I have never even got 3k out of a set.

Did they pop like boom, or did they just go flat? i was thinking of getting a set after my 555's wear out. Maybe not now?

There is no comparison between a Nitto and a BFG. A Nitto is basically a soft compound regular tire whereas the BFG is really more of a dedicated drag tire with a really soft sidewall. That's why a lot of people complain about them rubbing when they turn. In fact I think there is a post about it out there right now. BFG's work great at the track but suck as a street tire unless all you do is street race.

I really tax them on the street. Even the way it's setup, 1st gear still struggles for traction. So that's where I get some spin most of the time. Plus I have been running them at less-than-ideal PSI. (around 30)
They slowly go flat, like overnight. But the day before yesterday I was playing with this viper from outta town, I kept seeing him around and started following him. Anyways after a little smoke and some blasts around shifting hard, the car started to feel odd. The tire was flat again!

Sounds like a bad valve, or a hole/nail in the tire, to me........

When they are new. After 1000mi you can tell they start to lose it and get hard.
